Richard Mees, 73, of Linton, ND, died August 8, 2026, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Sannes Feist Funeral Home, Linton.

Rick was born to Selkirk “Bunny” and Verna “Pat” (Kneeland) Mees, on July 1, 1953. The oldest of four children.

Rick entered the US Navy in 1972 and was honorably discharged in 1975. After the Navy he worked as a laborer in many jobs including construction and mechanics.

In 1988 he married Darlene Liebel (Mosset). To this union one son was born, Michael Mees and two stepdaughters, Jessica Schwartz and Nicole Liebel.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. He loved to take care of his large lawn! He was very hard-working and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Rick is survived by his son, Michael Mees, Linton; stepdaughters, Jessica Schwartz, Mandan and Nicole Liebel, Bismarck; one grandson, Adam Schwartz, Mandan; brothers, Bob (Heather) Mees, Michigan, Bill Mees, Florida; and his younger half-brothers and sisters, Erin, Katie, Cole, Lauren, Brett and Jesse; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Mees; his parents; and one sister, Karen Adolf.
