Robert (Bob) M. Brandner, 80, of Linton, ND, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on May 21, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton with Fr. Bruce Krebs officiating.  Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND with Military Rites provided by the ND National Guard, Mandan VFW and Mandan American Legion. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the church in Linton.  There will be a vigil at 7pm.

Robert was born June 9, 1943, to Anton and Katherine (Vetter) Brandner. He graduated from St. Anthony's Catholic High School. Robert was in the North Dakota National Guard and proudly served for 22 years. He worked on the family farm until his retirement. Although he retired, he kept busy working various local jobs in the community, thoroughly enjoying and befriending everyone he met. Bob was a big game hunter going on numerous hunting trips in the western states. He was lucky to be selected for a once-in-a-lifetime Elk hunt in North Dakota. Bob loved camping and rarely missed a weekend. He was known as "mayor of Beaver Bay" and sometimes "Beaver Bay Bob." Bob was a Beaver Valley Horse Club member and Beaver Valley Sno-Goers; he served on the Linton Elevator Board and Emmons County Weed Board and was a Linton Fire Department District Board Member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation; Bob was a life member of the Amvets Club post 9, the Linton American Legion Post 54 and Emmons County Wildlife Club.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene; his three daughters and their families:  Tamara (Lorin) Willnow and their children,  Lindsey (Chris) Hegel. Marc Willnow, and Ryan Willnow; Lisa (Albert) Noel and their children, Alyssa (Eduardo), Yarbrough, and Amy (Tyler) Uhrig; Julie (Scott) Westergaard and her children, Alexandria (Cole) Staigle, Amber (Craig) Weber, Rachal (Keaton) Peterson, Erica Umber, Larry Umber III, and Conner Umber; Seven great-grandchildren; Five sisters and three brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Bob's family would like to thank Amber Weber, Brian Schumacher, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the excellent care they provided to Bob.
