Robert Schlittenhart, 86, of Hazelton, ND passed away August 6,2022 at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home, Linton. Burial will be held at the Hazelton Cemetery following the funeral service. A livestream of Robert's funeral service will be available on the funeral home website under his obituary.

William Robert Schlittenhart was born on November 14, 1935 in Linton to Gottlieb and Hilda (Ohlhauser) Schlittenhart.  Robert grew up on a farm west of Hazelton. He attended school and graduated in Hazelton. From there, he entered college in Souix Falls, SD and Minot ND where he earned a teaching degree.  Robert taught in numerous schools throughout ND including Bismarck High School where he retired after 34 years teaching. He also farmed and ranched north of Hazelton.  He married Grace Kirchmann in 1960 and with this union they had 3 children.  He later married Phyllis Slavik in 1986.

Robert loved being at the farm and loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, he would always get the biggest smile. He also loved to ride horse, deer hunting, fishing, and watch old classic Westerns. Robert was very active in the Gideons and Steer Incorporated organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Schlittenhart; three sons, Steve Schlittenhart, David (Teresa) Schlittenhart, and Mark Schlittenhart; grandchildren, Chelsea (Cole) Schiermeister, Jamie (Joca) Schlittenhart, Cody Schlittenhart, Tyler Schlittenhart, Nicole (Rex) Lyon, and Derek Anderson; great-grandchildren, Payton, Tripp, Ryker, Evelynn, Grace, and Jayden; two stepsons, Robin (Mary Jo) and Rick (Vicki); two stepdaughters, Tammy (Robert) and Penny (Richard); 9 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; one nephew Brent (Erin) Schlittenhart; and two nieces, Lonna (Tim) Sjomeling and Debbie (Kelly) Ingram.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gottlieb and Hilda Schlittenhart, and his brother Roy Schlittenhart.
