Rodney F Serr, 76, of Linton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Napoleon Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton.

Visitation will be from 3-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Burial will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

Rodney was born on September 22, 1942 to Edward and Caroline (Deis) Serr in Bismarck, ND.  He grew up on a farm west of Temvik, ND and attended rural grade school.  Rodney married Viola Schwengler on June 22, 1967, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Linton.  Rodney farmed alongside his dad for many years. He also worked on highlines in the early 70's and later ran heavy equipment operator for Emmons County.

Rodney enjoyed playing cards and dancing. He especially loved dogs and being on the farm.  Rodney will be remembered for his contagious smile that could light up a room.   He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Viola, Linton; son, Steve (Wendy) Serr, Mandan, ND; granddaughter, Alison (Logan) Wald, Napoleon; great-grandchildren, Emery and Hadley, and many cousins; sister-in-law, Lee Nelson, Steele, ND; and brother-in-law, Valentine "Sonny" Schwengler, Napoleon, ND.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Serr; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Annie Schwengler; brothers-in-law, Verlyn Nelson and Eugene Schwengler.
