Roger E. Harris, 73, Herreid, SD died June 6, 2026 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Cremation has taken place and a military graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery, Herreid.  Lunch will follow at the Herreid city park.  Roger was born December 29, 1952 in Denver, CO the son of Hugh and Betty (Williams) Harris.  He was raised and educated in Denver where he graduated from high school.  After high school Roger rode is bicycle from Denver to Joplin, MO.  He began his truck driving career and later married Eileen "Lisa" Harris.  They lived Topeka, KS and Roger continued his over the truck driving.  Roger was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard for many years.  He moved to Herreid, SD in 2023 to be closer to family.  

Roger enjoyed breakfast at the local cafe and could often be found enjoying a Pepsi at the bar.  He enjoyed his riding lawn mower and kept many beautiful lawns in Herreid.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard "Rich" Harris and Robert Dale Harris and many very special nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Harvey "Pat" Wayne Harris and James "Jimmy" Harris and his sister, Beverly Elaine Harris
