Obituary

Rose M. Fettig, 90, Linton, ND died March 27, 2026 in the Strasburg Care Center.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, ND with Father Mark Aune officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday with a Rosary at 10:00 AM all at the church. Interment will be held in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.

Rose was born September 27, 1935 the daughter of John and Cecilia (Feist) Bosch.  Rose was the sixth of eight children.  She had six brothers and one sister that were raised on the family farm five miles east of Linton.  She attended country school through the eighth grade.  Four of Rose's brothers were drafted into the US Army and the others got married so they sold the farm and moved into Linton.  Rose worked for local restaurants until her marriage to Robert "Bob" Fettig on December 27, 1954.  Robert was working for his dad and uncle at Fettig Auto and Implement.

Following their marriage, Rose was a stay at home mom and raised their four daughters until they started school.  Rose then went to work at the Linton Hospital.  She started out in housekeeping and later moved into central supply.  She was a supervisor in both departments and was in charge of ordering supplies.  She later worked in surgery as an operating technician, which she loved.  She put in a lot of overtime hours mostly on her feet.  She worked for the hospital for a total of 29 years before retiring.  While working at the hospital, Rose attended night school and received her GED, of which she was very proud of.

After retiring, Rose was a housekeeper for the priests at the rectory for ten years.  She found the time she spent cooking and cleaning to be very enjoyable and informative.  She also enjoyed attending daily mass and church seminars.

She was a member of the Linton Hospital Auxiliary and served as President for a short time.  Rose was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers and served as an officer for several years.  She enjoyed being a communion minister, sacristan and serving mass for weekday morning mass.  Rose found doing God's work through bringing holy communion to homebound and hospitalized parishioners, to be very rewarding.

Rose loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She spoiled the grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she got. She truly enjoyed cooking for her family during the holidays.  She made all their favorite foods.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Birdee Golden of San Diego, CA, Kathy (Gary) Benz of West Fargo, ND, Cindy (Ron) Hartman of Grassy Butte, ND and Pam Dahly of Minot, ND;  her grandchildren, Summer (Fady) Gimbel, Amber Gimbel, Heather (Shawn) Heick, Eric (Ashley) Benz, Autumn (Levi) Cooper; her great grandchildren, Haddie, Caden, Trey and Luka and a brother, Larry (Johanna) Bosch of Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2008; her brothers, Ralph, Benny, Alex, Peter and Julius; her sister, Tillie Stout and her sons-in-law, Ty Dahly and Dude Gimbel.
