Rose Nolz, 90, Zeeland, ND, died December 23, 2017at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland with Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour before service time on Thursday.
Rose Ilene (Jung) Nolz was born on April 19, 1927 on a farm near Zeeland. She was the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Salwei) Jung and the oldest of 11. Rose married Eugene Nolz on January 28th, 1947 and they farmed in Zeeland. Later, in 1979, they moved to Aberdeen, SD where Rose worked at the Aberdeen Living Center for 25 years. Rose enjoyed bird watching and gardening, growing an amazing vegetable garden and gorgeous flowers. In 2011, Rose and Eugene moved back to Zeeland.
Rose is survived by her children: Mary and Damian Weber (Plantation, FL), Tom Nolz and Kathi Brady (Garretson, SD), Pauline and Wayne Filson (Wright City, MO), Eugene Jr. and Brenda Nolz (Zeeland, ND), Sharon and Patrick Wolf (Zeeland, ND), Rose Grimes (Wright City, MO) and David Nolz (Zeeland, ND); 20 grandchildren: Damian Jr., Jeremy, Jared, Samantha, Ryan, Amy, Katie, Rebecca, Michael, Nicole, Rachel, Andy, Amanda, John, Kurt, Savannah, Evan, Alexandra, Sarah, and Cassie; 22 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Alice Schumacher (Bismarck, ND), Frances and Frank Weigel (Zeeland, ND), Margie Lovik (Rapid City, SD), Mary Ann and Gerald Smith (Aberdeen, SD), Caroline and Glenn Amundson (Mount Prospect, IL) and Thomas and Carol Jung (Welch, MN); sisters-in-law: Rose Jung, Delores Jung, Kay Jung and Joan Jung; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband: Eugene Nolz; her infant son: Ralph Nolz; her parents: Paul, Elizabeth and step-mother, Magdalena; four siblings: William Jung, Robert Jung, and Anton "Jim" Jung, Paul Jung, Jr.; and son-in-law: Shawn Grimes.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Andrew's Tanzanian Mission Fund.
