Rosemary Schatz, 83, of Zeeland, ND, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at the Wishek Hospital in Wishek, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at the church on Monday at 7:00 p.m.Rosemary was born April 28, 1931 to John and Regina (Feist) Schweigert at Zeeland, ND. She grew up in Zeeland, graduating from Zeeland High School. On October 10, 1950 she married Eugene Schatz at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Together they made their home at Zeelend where they farmed and raised their family.Rosemary was active in church and a dedicated member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and in the kitchen canning and experimenting with different recipes. She liked watching football and other sporting events and activities at the school. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She is survived by her 6 children, Gene (Linda) Schatz of Wenatchee, WA, Beverly (Jerry) Klein of Fessenden, ND, Mark Schatz of Medford, OR, Renee Benson of Boise, ID, David Schatz of Fessenden, and Donovan Schatz of Boise; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Marjorie Stevenson of Dufur, OR; Helen (Myron) Jakober of Missoula, MT, Judy Schiender of Windom, MN, Annie (Tom) Price of Rapid City, SD, and Kathy (Jerry) Bessette of Wichita Falls, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 sisters, Elaine, Pauline and Alice; brother, Clarence; and son-in-law, Les Benson.
