Ruth Marie Acheson, 96, Pollock, SD, passed away at the Linton Hospital in Linton, ND, on December 1 ^st , 2018.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at Pollock Lutheran Church.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm on Friday, also at Pollock Lutheran Church.

Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery, East of Pollock.

Ruth was born on April 22 ^nd , 1922, the eldest of six children born to Fred and Lizzie (Pool) Reierson. She graduated from Pollock High School in 1940. On September 27 ^th 1941, Ruth was united in marriage to Ray Acheson at her parents' home. Ruth and Ray made their home on a farm in Emmons County where they farmed until Ray's death on October 29 ^th , 1969. That following spring, Ruth moved into Pollock. She then worked part time as a clerk at the US Post office in Pollock until she retired.

Ruth was a member of the Pollock Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Pollock Senior Citizens and an honorary member of Ruth Hope Circle. She enjoyed playing cards, making quilts and afghans, and having coffee with her many friends, especially her daily morning visit with her aunt and special friend, Annette Pool. Ruth also loved cooking and baking for her family and friends.

Ruth moved to the Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Herreid, SD in the fall of 2012 and resided there until April of 2018 when she moved to the Strasburg Care Center in Strasburg, ND.

Ruth is survived by her children, Gudrun (Donald) Berndt of Herreid, Monte Acheson of Anchorage, AK, Sonja (Frank) Seymour of Pollock, and Mark (Sandy) Acheson of Boardman, OR; grandchildren, Scott (Duane) Berndt, Sheila (Mike) Truffa, Kent (Shannon) Berndt, Kelly Berndt, Cody (Susan) Acheson, Chad (Michelle) Seymour, Bronson (Kelly ) Seymour, Debbie (Seth) Wheeler, Eli (Julie) Acheson, and Candida (Paul) Goehring; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Reierson of Linton, Russell (Millie) Reierson of Rosebud, MT, and Harold (Shirley) Reierson of Rosebud, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; sister, Katherine Langeliers; brother, Woodrow Reierson; brother-in-law, Harvey Langeliers; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Reierson and Maxine Reierson; and niece, Cynthia Miller.
