Ruth Borr, 90, formerly of Pollock, SD, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock with Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church Tuesday before the service. Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery, Pollock.Ruth was born July 3, 1926 in Pollock, SD, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Van Diest) Vander Vorste. She was raised and educated in Pollock. Ruth married Kenneth Borr on December 6, 1945 at Westfield, ND. They made their home in Pollock where they operated a grocery store for many years. Ruth was a member of the church circle. She enjoyed dancing and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.Ruth is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Forrest and Ruth Borr, Pollock; one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jim Zahn, Bismarck; four grandchildren; Cherie (Terry) Kraft, Mandan, Leslye (Lee) Ellison, Bismarck, Keenyn (Kristen) Borr, Fargo, ND, Darryn(Flo) Borr, Pollock, SD; seven great grandchildren; Robert (Lexi) Reynolds, Drew and Trace Ellison, Vanessa, Everleigh, Maddox and Cullen Borr; and 2 great-great grandchildren; Lynden Reynolds and Sophie Polensky.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, John, Arthur, Burnie and Ted Vander Vorste; and four sisters, Violet Olmsted, Margaret Meihak, Hazel Vander Vorste and Iva Wittmeier.
