Scott “Scooter” Arnold Baumiller, 61, of Hazelton, North Dakota, passed away on July 6, 2026, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Hazelton High School. Burial will be in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm at First Baptist Church, Linton, ND on Sunday, July 12, 2026. There will be a prayer service at 7pm.

Scott was born on March 25, 1965, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Arnold "Arnie" and Carole (James) Baumiller. Scott graduated from Hazelton High School in 1983. He attended North Dakota State University, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1987. Scott married his high school sweetheart, Corrine Scherr, on September 28, 1991. Following college, Scott began his banking career at Strasburg State Bank, where he worked for three years before joining the Bank of Hazelton. He worked at the Bank of Hazelton for thirty-five years, building lasting relationships with customers and coworkers through his integrity, knowledge, and genuine care for others. Scott also enjoyed being involved in his community and held positions on multiple boards, including the Hazelton Fire Department, Hazelton Lions Club, HMB School Board, ND Soybean Council, Hazelton Housing Corp, Emmons County Housing, and Agtegra Board.

He found great joy working alongside his father and later farming with his three sons. In 2012, Scott and his family moved to the Baumiller family farm. Farming was more than an occupation for Scott—it was a way of life and a source of great pride. He treasured the opportunity to continue his family's farming tradition while sharing that enthusiasm with the next generation. Scott had a deep passion for basketball and proudly coached at Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock (HMB). Scott cherished the relationships he built with his players, many of whom remained special to him after their playing days. Some of his greatest memories came from coaching his own sons, creating lifelong memories together. He took great pride in watching all his boys’ accomplishments and was always in attendance, being their biggest supporter.

In his free time, Scott enjoyed reading, riding his motorcycle, attending concerts, and, most of all, making memories with his family. Whether he was working in the field, visiting with friends, or lending a helping hand, Scott approached life with quiet determination, kindness, and a wonderful sense of humor. Those who knew Scott will remember him as a hardworking man who was always willing to help anyone in need. Scott's intelligence and deep devotion to his family leave a lasting legacy of kindness and generosity that will never be forgotten.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Corrine Baumiller; his sons, Travis (Hannah) Baumiller, Jared (Teegan Scherr) Baumiller, and Cole (Jaslyn) Baumiller; his mother, Carole Baumiller; his brother, Mark (Lynette) Baumiller, and sister, Kara (Corey) Backer; nieces, nephews, and many extended family members, friends, and coworkers. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Baumiller.

The family sincerely thanks the medical staff at Vibra Hospital in Fargo, whose kindness and dedication meant so much throughout his journey. Also, a special thank you to Scott's Aunt Sharon James for her unwavering love and support. Her presence and care brought comfort to Scott and his family during a difficult time and will never be forgotten.
