Steven L. Heying, 53, of Linton, ND, died March 24, 2011 in Strasburg, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Linton with Fr. David Richter officiating. Burial will take place later at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the church. There will be a prayer service held at 7:30pm. Steve was born August 9, 1957 in Winner, SD, the son of Merlin and Delores (Dahlman) Heying. Steve attended school in Winner, graduating from the Winner High School. He moved to Linton in 1996 to install fiber optic gas lines for MDU. Steve married Verna (Jangula) Olheiser on August 1, 1997 at Seeman Park in Linton. They later had their marriage blessed at St. Anthonys Catholic Church. He did construction work prior to purchasing Farmers Lumber and Supply in Strasburg. He was a very talented carpenter/woodworker who shared his talents with many. Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing. Steven Lee was sent home to heaven on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Steve has two children: Michael Heying of Linton, ND and Elizabeth Heying of Aurora, NE; one brother and sister-in-law: Dennis and Tami Heying of Broken Bow, NE. Steve was a devoted husband and step-father to Verna and her children: Lisa and Terry Kovacs of Linton, ND, Stacy Olheiser of Aberdeen, SD and Ryan Olheiser of Linton, ND; four step granddaughters: Taylor, Billiana, Emma and Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Delores Heying and a sister, Shirley.
