Obituary

Susan Kay (Haugen) Moore, 51, of Mandan, ND, passed away on September, 6, 2019, in Strasburg, ND, at the home of her best friend.

Susan was born on September 16, 1967, in Springfield, Oregon, to Donald Haugen of St. Anthony, ND and Marjorie (Buller) Haugen of Arena, ND.  Susan was raised and educated in Mandan, ND.  It was here in the 8 th grade that she met her life long friend, Shari (Kenney) Langeliers.

With the help from her oldest brother Michael, Susan joined the US Army in 1989 until 1992.  It was on Christmas Day in 1990 when she was sent to the Persian Gulf to assist with Operation Desert Storm.  She remained there until May 23, 1991.

Susan enjoyed many hobbies.  She especially loved to write in diaries (notebooks), which she kept her whole life and wrote in up until her death.  She enjoyed drawing and coloring, poetry, dice games and cribbage. Susan's two sons were her pride and joy. They also have the talent to write poetry and draw, like their mom. Susan often talked about her family and friends, and how blessed she was to have them in her life.

Susan was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.  Although she lost that battle no one can say she didn't put up a good fight.

"Sing, dance like no one is watching, laugh until you cry my pretty girl, how I watched you suffer"

She is survived by, two sons, Nickolas (Kymberlee) Day, and Robert Day (girlfriend Tabitha) all of Bismarck, ND; two brothers, Michael (Irma) Haugen of Yelm, WA and Scot Haugen of Mandan; and many other family and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Carl Moore.
