Sylvester Wolf, 87, Zeeland, ND, died October 4 2017 at the Ashley Nursing Home, Ashley, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2017 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Zeeland. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2017 from 6 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church in Zeeland.

Sylvester was born October 10, 1929 in rural Zeeland to Nicholas and Caroline (Glatt) Wolf.  He grew up on the family farm.  Sylvester enlisted in the US Army and served in the Battery "A" 95 ^th AAA Gun Battalion at Sandhofen, Germany.

He married MaryAnn Seiler on January 25, 1954 in Zeeland, where they farmed on his parent's farm and raised their seven children, before retiring in Zeeland in 1993.

Syl loved to fish and had many fish stories.  He enjoyed hunting also which he has passed on from his children to their children.  Syl was a collector of toy tractors, salt and pepper shakers, jewelry and coins.  He was active in the community and was member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and also a life-long member of the American Legion.

Syl was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank, Joe, Matt, John, Tony, Julius and Nick, sisters Eva Ruschke and Frances Hunter and daughter-in-law, Linda Wolf.

He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Wolf and seven children;  Galen Wolf, Boise, ID, Dale (MaryAnn) Wolf, Bethany, OK, Sheila (Tim ) Huber, Apple Valley, MN, Tim Wolf, Fargo, ND, Becky (Greg) Turner, Oklahoma City, OK, Allen (Trudy) Wolf, Zeeland, and Darrel (Amanda) Wolf, Zeeland; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Martha Weigel, Annie Ranum, Barbara (Dan) Goldade, and Clara Knodel; one brother, Jim (Carol) Wolf and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
