Thomas Jacob, 92, of Bismarck formerly of Linton, ND, died October 18, 2023 at Baptist Health & Rehab, Bismarck. Thomas Jacob was born February 10, 1931, to Michael and Rose (Miller) Jacob, Sr. on the family farm located northeast of Linton.  He attended rural school and helped on the farm. In his free time, he enjoyed shooting pool and frequenting local dances with his friends.

It was at one of these dances that Thomas met the love of his life, Esther Selzler.  He and Esther married on October 27, 1958 at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Strasburg.  Together on their farmstead, they raised 6 children.  Thomas proudly built their home with no plans or drawings. He designed and built the house, wired it himself, and received a perfect inspection.

Thomas was a skilled farmer, known for his hard work and envious crop yields.  He not only maintained their 880 acre property, but was always willing to lend a hand to neighboring farmers and friends. After combining his own fields, he would drive his combine over to neighboring fields to finish the job.

Thomas retired in 1987 after 28 years of farming.  He and Esther moved to Linton, where he spent his time golfing, playing cards, and fishing.  He enjoyed spending time with family and picking on his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Thomas was a member of the Beaver Valley Sno-Goers, a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Thomas is survived by 5 children, Daniel (Rena) Jacob, LeRoy (Laurie) Jacob, Caroline (Thomas) Korkowski, Dianna (Kevin) Fettig, and Theresia (Peter) Johnson; son-in-law Bryan Ova; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Michael (Sally) Jacob; sister Rose (Francis) Weisbeck; sisters-in-law Angeline Jacob and Helen Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Esther Jacob; daughter, Corraine Ova; grandson Brandon Fettig; parents, Michael and Rose Jacob, Sr.; and siblings Valentine Jacob, Frank Jacob, Anna Mary (Andrew) Werner, Julia (Joe) Kiefer, Maggie (Tony) Weisbeck, and Theresa Jacob.

Thomas's life was a testament to his resilience, determination, and love for his family. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him.
