Vicki R. Jakobsen, 81, of Strasburg, ND, formerly of Pollock, SD, died April 25, 2024 in the Strasburg Care Center.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Friday, May 3, 2024 at Pollock Lutheran Church, Pollock, SD with Pastor David Lund officiating.  Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm with a prayer service at 7pm at the church in Pollock.

Vicki Ruth Wittmeier was born November 22, 1942 to Edwin and Ruth (Hoime) Wittmeier in Mobridge, SD. She attended country school for a few years until moving to Pollock, where she attended grade school and graduated high school in 1960. Following graduation, Vicki worked at the Campbell County Bank in Herreid, SD for a few years. On February 15, 1963 she married Kenny Jakobsen at Pollock Lutheran Church. They were blessed with one son, Larry, who was Vicki's pride and joy.

The family traveled the country while Kenny built high line towers and eventually settled on Kenny's family farm. Vicki loved the outdoors and could often be found fixing fence, working with cattle, milking cows, and many other chores that go along with being a farm wife. After retiring from farming, she worked at Rosenbluth International and H&R Block in Linton, ND for a time.

She was a member of the Pollock Lutheran Church where she was active in Circle and on the church council.  She also served on the Emmons County Social Services Board and as the Beaver Valley Horse Club secretary. Vicki had a love for reading and enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  She always had a pot of coffee on for visitors, and many good discussions were held around her dining room table. Her family and friends were very special to her, and her two granddaughters held a very special place in her heart. Vicki will always be remembered for her generous and caring nature, big heart, wide smile, and the twinkle in her eye. In 2017 she entered the Strasburg Care Center and remained there until her death.

Vicki is survived by her son Larry (Leanne) Jakobsen, grandchildren Kiley (Jesse) Gosch, and Lindsey Jakobsen, and great grandchildren Graysen and Mylo Gosch. She is also survived by brother David (Mercedes) Wittmeier.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny, her parents, Edwin and Ruth Wittmeier, one sister, Karen Jones, and one infant brother, Edwin.
