Virginia (Vetter) Vetsch, born on June 28, 1931, adored daughter of Frank and Genevieve (Schlosser) Vetter. A beloved and cherished member of the Linton community, gracefully passed away on June 3rd, 2023, at the remarkable age of 91. Virginia embarked on a lifelong journey on October 16, 1950 when she married the love of her life, Wilfred (Willie) Vetsch. Together, they nurtured and raised six children, Susan & Dale (Haag), Sandy Vetsch & Gale Netteberg, Sheila & Rudy (Skubal), Gwen & Tim (Aman), Frank & Susanne (Vetsch) and Tina & Dean (Seifert), weaving a tapestry of love and family.
Virginia and Willie established a warm and loving home on their farm near Linton until moving into town in 1971. Their joyful moments were often spent playing cards, dancing, and reveling inthe company of their dear friends and beloved family. Virginia's impeccable skill as a seamstress shone brightly as she crafted exquisite garments, including prom dresses and wedding gowns, for her cherished children and their friends and loved ones.
Preceding Virginia in death were her parents and three siblings, Joe, Leo, and Frank. She is survived by her beloved siblings, Jean (Schumacher), Tony Vetter, Mary (Hulm), and Tim Vetter, who carry the memories of their shared journey. Virginia's enduring legacy lives on through her six children, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each a testament to her profound love and influence.
A visitation to honor Virginia's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 5-7 PM, at the Sannes Feist Family Funeral Home in Linton. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 pm, offering solace and collective remembrance. On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the sacred grounds of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Linton, where Virginia's spirit will find eternal peace. She will be laid to rest at St. Anthony's Cemetery, surrounded by the beauty and serenity she cherished. For those unable to attend in person, the funeral service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Virginia will forever be remembered for the boundless love she shared, her unwaveringmdedication to her family, and the brilliance of her needlework. Her absence will be deeply felt by the Linton community, where her presence graced countless lives. May she find eternal rest, and may her memory be a source of solace and comfort to all who mourn her loss.
