Walter "Wally" Wagner, 76, of Devils Lake, ND formally of Strasburg, ND, died December 27, 2022 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg. Burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Sannes Feist Funeral Home, Linton.

Walter David Wagner was born October 14, 1946, in Bismarck to John T. and Regina (Glass) Wagner. He grew up on the family farm west of Strasburg where he attended Krassna Country School. He graduated from St. Benedict's High School in 1964. He went on to attend college at the Richardton Abbey for one year until his father passed away, when he then returned home to take over the farm. Wally married Bernadette Kelsch on April 1, 1967, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. To this union, they were blessed with seven children. Wally farmed and ranched for over 50 years until he retired in 2015. He moved to Devils Lake in 2016, where he currently resided.

He enjoyed farming and ranching, going for drives on his gator, taking trips to Mexico, drinking Blackberry Brandy and most of all spending time with his friends and family. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4 th Degree Knight.

Wally is survived by his seven children, Troy Wagner, Mina, SD, Tom (Sheila) Wagner, Strasburg, Todd (Melinda) Wagner, Mobridge, SD, Tim (Lorri) Wagner, Presho, SD, Tricia (Jason) Hulm, Strasburg, Tina (Jesse) Job, Bismarck and Tara (Landyn) Wolf, Devils Lake; 20 grandchildren, Justin Wagner, Stacia (Lane) Twardoski, Jake, Addison and Carson Wagner, Maranda (Brett) Obritsch, Kylee Wagner, Tate, Tance, Kacie and Kenzie Wagner, Alaina, Kasandra and Kendra Hulm, Brody, Brecken and Briea Job and Brynlee, Hayden and Tucker Wolf; three sisters, Virginia Volk, Violet (Robert) Kiefer and Delores Berry; brother-in-law, Bob Walters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Regina Wagner; grandson, Brandon Wagner; brother, Norman Wagner and sister, LaVern Walters.
