Walter Werlinger, 60, of Grafton, ND, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at Life Skills and Transition Center, Grafton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, ND. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Myers Funeral Home in Linton, ND.Walter was born April 4, 1954 in Linton, ND the son of Andrew and Helen (Feist) Werlinger. At a very young age, Walter's parents made the heartbreaking decision to have him placed in the care of the Life Skills and Transition Center in Grafton, ND where he spent most of his life, due to a severe developmental disability. Walter loved swinging outdoors and having his own swing. He enjoyed going for rides, and listening to country and gospel music.He was blessed with very special caregivers and staff, especially Martha Johnson who was his true angel on earth.Walter is survived by 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Marvin (Rosie) Werlinger of Circle Pines, MN, Roger (Audrey) Werlinger of Ham Lake, MN, Kenneth Werlinger of Zeeland, ND and Duane (Sandy) Werlinger of Linton; 4 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Kathy (John) Meier of Zeeland, Doris Barry (Charlie Maue) of Rogers, MN, Carol (Robert) Aberle of Gillette, WY, and Eileen Werlinger (Bob Ackerman) of Bismarck, ND; sister-in-law Kimberly Buchholz Werlinger; nieces and nephews, Lenora, Jackie, Michael, Lisa, Jason, Adam, Janell, Kevin, Keith, Michelle, Darin, Ryan, Mike, Nick and Kaylee.He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Elmer and Andy; and 1 sister, Laura.The family expresses sincere gratitude to all of Walter's special caregivers.
