Wayne Bernard Kalberer, 58, of Hazelton, ND, died November 30, 2012 due to complications from heart surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Monday, December 3, 2012 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hazelton, ND with Fr. David Richter officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from noon to 4:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at St. Paul's Catholic Church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue for 2 hours before the services on Monday. Wayne was born on July 10, 1954 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Joseph and Ella (Humann) Kalberer. He was raised and educated in Hazelton and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1972. Wayne married Adele Mastel at St. Paul's Catholic Church on February 2, 1974. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed west of Hazelton. He took great pride in his farming and his cattle. Wayne believed the best things in life aren't things. His favorite "thing" was spending time with his grandchildren: Conrad, Isabella, Isaac, Carson, and Caleb, always sharing his green gum with them. He enjoyed outdoor activities with his family and he loved to spend time with his friends. Wayne was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, where he served on the cemetery board. He was also a Member of the North Dakota Stockmen's Association and he coached grade school basketball for many years. He is survived by his wife, Adele, Hazelton; his children: Jesse and Susan Kalberer, Bismarck, ND Janel and James Silvernagel, Braddock, ND, and Wyatt and Heidi Kalberer, Hazelton, ND; five grandchildren: Conrad, Isabella, Isaac, Carson and Caleb; his parents: Joseph and Ella Kalberer, Hazelton, ND; his siblings: Jerome Kalberer, St. Maries, ID, Sandra and Marty Janke, Steele, ND, Barbara and Nick Shea, St. Maries, ID, Linda Nagel and special friend Brett Mealio, Hazelton, ND, Mary and Brian Schmaltz, Linton, ND, Patricia and Wayne Cooper, Mandan, ND, Paula and Paul Balliet, Bismarck, ND, and Joey and Debbie Kalberer, Hazelton, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Conrad and Helen Kalberer and Art and Maggie Humann and a brother, Steven Kalberer.In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials that will be used to honor Wayne at a later time.
