Willis Ryckman, 90, passed away on October 28, 2020 at the Strasburg Care Center, Strasburg, ND.

There will be a private family funeral service on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pollock with Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Cemetery, Pollock.

Willis was born on March 30, 1930 to Carl and Rena (Plaggemeyer) Ryckman, Pollock, SD. He grew up on a farm west of Westfield, ND. On October 12, 1950 he married Lydia Seibel in Westfield, ND and together had 5 children. For most of their lives they lived on the farm north of Pollock where they farmed and raised their family. After retiring they continued to live on the farm until June of 2017 when they entered into the Strasburg Care Center. Willis deeply loved his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, and farmed many years with his brother Elmer. Willis was an excellent woodworker and was very proud of his team of horses and wagons that he made. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his favorite color was red.

Willis and his wife Lydia were members of the Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church. Willis was a former deacon and for several years Willis and his wife Lydia cleaned the church together.

Willis is survived by his five children, Les (Mary Jane) Ryckman, Pollock, Clint (Alice) Ryckman, Strasburg, Linda (Lewis) Privratsky, Hettinger, ND, Shirley (John) Nieuwsma, Strasburg, and Barb (Jon) Vander Wal of Hettinger; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Huizenga, Anna Sjomeling and Luella Boelkes;

Willis was preceded in death by his wife Lydia Ryckman and his parents, Carl and Rena Ryckman; brothers, Elmer C. Ryckman, Eddie Ryckman, and Gerald Ryckman; and one sister, Geraldine Schwan.
