Willis D. Taxis, 77, of Fargo, ND formerly of Linton, ND, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services in Fargo. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at United Methodist Church, Linton, ND with Pastor Perry Kimble officiating.Willis was born July 18, 1937 in Temvik, ND, to Jacob and Belinda "Blondie" (Nelson) Taxis. He grew up in Linton, ND and graduated from Linton High School. He was captain of the football and basketball teams. Willis was a Master Plumber and Pipefitter for over 48 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Local 300 for 48 years. Plumbing the Linton swimming pool was one of his first jobs.Willis married Donna Klein in Linton in 1956 and they moved to Fargo in 1966. They had three children, Cathy, Michael and Connie. They later, divorced.Willis is survived by his children, Cathy (Gene Sweeney) Taxis, Fargo, ND, Michael (Dawn) Taxis, Linton, ND and Connie (Jerry) Qual, Jamestown, ND, eight grandchildren, James Darnell (Libby), Tara (Chad) Olheiser, Jonas Taxis (Chalsie), Stefany (JR) Halvorson, Danielle Sweeney (Garret), Ryan Sweeney, Travis (Sara) Klein and Chelsea Klein, 15 great grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Two sisters, Belva (Lester) Beck, Fulton, New York and Beulah (Jerry) Goebel, Milwaukee, WI, one brother, Jimmy (Kathy) Taxis, West Ellis, WI, and two special aunts, Blanche Schmierer and Beverly Mott, both of Washington, and a special friend of 34 years, Marilyn Martell and her four children and 12 grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister-in-law, DeLonce "Tooter" and Sue Taxis and one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ray Scherr, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
